Madison Scott (b. 2000) is a conceptual artist based on Gadigal land/Sydney. Their works interrogate existing models of art and language, focusing on the tensions and thematic resonances within issues of binary distinction. Influenced from the Anti-aesthetic movements including Arte Povera, constructivism and Minimalism, Madison reinvigorates discarded objects and abject materials to construct assemblages. Their arbitrary process forges new poetic meanings and provocations that transcend the fixed nature and collective context of these forms, as well as our relationship to them.
