The themes of my work are inspired by contemplating human values, cultural heritage, philosophies and mythologies.

Fundamentally, a true interpretation of my paintings stems from a personal and emotional connection imbued in the process, often revealed years later.

My work reflects both enduring and transient human experiences, whether they are my own or those I have yet to comprehend fully. Introspection of the world around me is retrospective, whilst delving into “spiritual phenomena” and my connections to the past creates a pathway for me to link the two concepts throughout history.

Exploring global cultural heritage, such as legends, folk stories and diverse religions, it is possible to locate more similarities than differences in the “Spiritual World”. It is here that I glean inspiration from what is perceived as the unchanging aspects of a “Spiritual Life” which I strive to convey through my paintings.  I am particularly fascinated with oil paint as a chosen medium, not only for its texture but also for its connection to nature. After experimenting with various mediums and techniques ranging from
wood carving, to doll knitting and digital art, I believe that the best way for me to demonstrate my concepts is through canvas and paint.
