Growing up in rural Sydney, floods and bush fires are a yearly occurrence. Each year school closes, animals are moved, and everyone drives down to see where the road has been engulfed in water. It becomes easy to forget that these natural disasters are becoming more powerful due to the growing impact of climate change. My work depicts Forbes, Dubbo and Parkes - rural areas impacted significantly each year by floods that should only be ‘one in one hundred’.
