Jodie Boffa is a designer and artist based in Sydney, Australia.
Her artistic practice is rooted in a minimalist approach that seeks to distill works into their fundamental elements. This process of reduction enables endless exploration of the foundational components of nature—such as light, colour, and form. Through iterative experimentation with various printing techniques her art engages with layered grids and delicate colour relationships. Her work embodies the concept of "subtle complexity," and is typically non-representational, exploring the formal qualities of composition, transparency and opacity through material investigations of everyday objects that are so ubiquitous they are mostly unseen. These formal and aesthetic investigations span a variety of materials and serve as subtle conceptual tools through which several interconnected ideas surface, including trace, temporality, transparency, and entanglement.
