My art practice is deeply embedded in the complex psychological phenomenon of nostalgia. I use colour, fabric, music, trends and humour to channel into the mental time travel that is layered onto the canvas.
Approached with a psychological filter, my current series of paintings are artistic representations of contemporary artists who have influenced my art making. Elicited by informal conversations held in the artists studios, I have interpreted the objects and colours in their space, the memories and values they shared with me into a visual perception of our spoken words. I invite the audience to find a connection with my work that enables an exploration of their own feelings of nostalgia.
