Heidi Machamer’s paintings explore cinematic action and dramatic storytelling. Inspired by various forms of escapism including films, video games and digital illustration, the artist depicts heightened themes of staged conflict and vengeance to blur the worlds of fantasy, reality and humour. Through cropping, lighting and gesture, this series functions as an open-ended storyboard, inviting viewers to engage with the unfolding narrative.
