Chile Bainbridge (b. 1998) is a multidisciplinary artist based on Bidjigal and Gadigal land. Their work explores how abstraction, materiality, and community-engaged art can foster solidarity and offer new perspectives on gender. By situating their practice within their community and artistic lineages, Chile has developed a distinctive visual language that has evolved alongside their exploration of queer identity. Through bodily, humorous, and at times documentative works, Chile sparks important conversations about embodiment, contemporary local trans experiences, and identity. Their creative practice spans a broad spectrum of outcomes, including sculpture, photomedia, text, and installation, offering multiple ways of sharing.
