Megan is a ceramic artist living and working on Gadigal land / Sydney who is interested in the human condition and how we respond to the world around us. Working with universally recognisable, ubiquitous forms such as spheres, loops and curves, she creates reduced forms that require the viewer to draw on their own life experiences to attribute meaning. Megan is interested in how things can exist in multiple states simultaneously and works to find the paradox that sits at the intersection of opposing ideas, such as seeing vs feeling, visibility vs invisibility, interior vs exterior, singularity vs plurality. In her work, Megan investigates affect theory and how light, refraction, form, space, colour and texture interact to behave as a signifier that speaks subconsciously to the individual and challenges our perceptions of the world around us.
