I’m interested in how abstraction can be used or interpreted as a psychological narrative or code for the ebbs and flows of experience and emotion. In these abstract paintings, I investigate my perceptions, experiences and memories of places and the human interactions and emotive tensions that can occur there, leaving traces in the mind and the place.

Emotive forces such as struggle, defiance, fragmentation or acceptance are suggested with the weaving of relationships between shapes and backgrounds, shifting spatial planes, colours and textures.
