Grace Buckley (; born 7 May 2001) is a First Nations Australian Wiradjuri Artist living on Dharawal country and practices on Gadigal country of the Eora Nation, Sydney NSW. In her current practice she primarily produces soft sculpture and expanded drawing through the act of stitching, sewing, pinning, and upholstery techniques combined with found metal or wood to form tactile, hard and soft assemblages. Her work explores the complexities of her personal experiences, a journey of both trauma and healing and a play between the parallels of her child and adult self. In her pieces she seeks to be both vulnerable and resilient, in attempt to hold onto her femininity and sanity. Grace works through post-traumatic stress as she stretches, covers, pins and sews domestic objects into silence, concealment and refinement. Grace finds comfort in using old decorative materials that surrounded her as a child in conjunction with heavy mediums that stand in for the heavy phycological weight carried by her.
